Every time Chanel release a new make-up collection my heart skips a beat.
Maybe it’s the Beauty Editor in me that will never die but there’s something about the inky black packaging…it’s always luscious, covetable and collectable.
The new ‘Blue Illusion de Chanel’ range is cult in the making with a focus on sexy, smoky navy blue eyes. Such a cool change from classic kohl. I’m absolutely obsessed with the Le Crayon Yeux in Bleu Aerien and Illusions De Ombre in Apparition.
You need them too.
Creative Director of Chanel Make-up Peter Philips shows us how to recreate the navy look from the recent Chanel Haute Couture show:
“I chose to focus on the eyes and to add a touch of pearl on the nails. The brief was: blue! So instead of black kohl I created a ‘blue-khol’.
Le Crayon Yeux ‘Bleu Aérien’ is a new intense blue eye pencil that I applied to contour the eyes. I also created two new ‘Illusion d’Ombre ‘ shades The shade ‘Apparition’ is an intense, greyish blue that I applied on top of the eye pencil, fading out towards the outer corner of the eye, and ‘Destination ‘ is a pale, silvery satin blue that I used on the inner corner of the eye and very moderately under the eyebrow. I finished the look with black mascara Inimitable Intense ‘Black’ and a deep blue line in the inner rim eye with the Le Crayon Khôl ‘Marine’.
For the nails I created a pale pearl blue shade called Le Vernis ‘Sky Line’. It’s a beautiful, easy to apply, pearly (on the edge of metallic).”
