Dressing Down An Evening Gown.

Paula Joye Street Style Evening For Day Five Day Dress Challenge 14

TGIF! No, seriously TGIF…..

Props to all of you that took part in this week’s challenge. Your shoes, outfits, kindness and humour lifted me more than you’ll know in what’s been a particularly intense week.

Rounding out the five days is Evening For Day, a look I find much easier than long or print.

The juxtaposition of hard and soft is romantic. Throwing a leather jacket over a ball gown or denim over chiffon has real appeal and besides what do I always tell you about using your good things…

This morning at 7.10am, I dusted off this formal dress from 1990 and renovated it into a day frock for 2013.

Mixing the rainbow boucle with the black satin dressed it down and I also kept my hair and make-up very lo-fi.

Except for my coffee which needed to be full volume.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend with your Dad’s and thinking of all of you that are missing theirs this Sunday.

WEARING: Dress from 1990, boucle jacket from Isabel Marant, satin shoes from Rupert Sanderson.

And this is what it’s like on its own. Verrrry Pump Up The Jam.

And….How to dress down a ball gown.

I wish I worked in an office that was less male dominant so that I could have worn a ball gown…
You look great Paula! Cute shoes :)

  • Gin & Tonic

I did feel a bit silly wearing lurex in the office today, but props to you for making me do something out of my comfort zone.
This week has been so much fun.
When are we doing the other challenges?
