There’s something about red and denim together – perhaps it’s the texture clash? – that feels iconic.
It’s reminiscent of the Marlboro Man commercials.
Hard but soft. Cowboy with a heart. Dark red and pale blue.
When you pair it with shiny black it takes on much more of a fashion dimension.
Suddenly it’s Blondie, Madonna…it’s a Chris De Burg song.
Tis the details in this outfit that I’m feeling.
The Bag: If you are yet to discover the luxe bags from Australian designer Nikki Williams then run because they are gorgeous. This soft sued clutch has all the retro styling of a night out at Studio 54. It’s the perfect evening bag – phone, lipstick, keys – and also comes in dusty rose pink and navy blue.
The Sleeve: This shirt would just be a shirt without the frill on the sleeve. This is a nod to the pirate shirt trend without turning into an extra from Hamilton. The cut out neckline also saves it from being too Jack Sparrow.
The Hem: Freshly shorn and yet to unravel – a raw hem on a skinny jean can elevate it (oddly) to something more interesting than just another pair of skinny jeans. This pair manages to still look slick despite the distressing.
